UX, strategy & prototyping

This project was created during my time at WillowTree.

Our project aimed to strategically improve and elevate the design and structure of the existing self-service dental insurance provider portal.

We crafted an experience that seamlessly integrates the client’s recently published brand library, offers a simple and intuitive path for completing everyday tasks, and aspires to set a best-in-class industry standard.

Improved user journey map

Process & timeline

1. Research

We collected existing data from user surveys, provided by the client, which helped us take an initial pass at improving the user journey and first round of design recommendations.

2. User journey map

Taking the original user journey map from Guardian, we restructured it through simplification and updated suggestions.

3. Round 1 design

Using the collected data and the improved user journey map, we implemented designs based on our recommendations for improvement.

4. Round 1 testing

We created a non-branded prototype for users to test to ensure our designs meet expectations. This approach allowed us to gather their initial reactions and thoughts on the visual design and suggested features.

5. Round 2 design

Based on the user feedback we collected through testing, we made changes and continued our design implementation.

6. Round 2 testing

To gather feedback before sending the designs to the development stage, we created an in-depth prototype to interactively showcase each feature and gather another round of user feedback.
